Calorie Controlled Diets Cause Stress
Author: Guido Kroemer
Most people who are into a weight loss program have become obsessed with calorie controlled diets. They believe that knowing how much calories is contained in the food they eat will help them in losing weight faster. What they don't know is that they are putting a lot of stress in their weight loss program instead of enjoying eating their food.
True, reducing calorie intake can help a lot in losing weight but becoming obsessed with how much calories your food contains does not help at all. You are not in any way getting nearer to your goals in losing weight. You're getting farther from your targets and end up dissatisfied and back to your old self. The most important thing when losing weight is to make the first step on how to lose weight. Everything else will follow. Change your old lifestyle to a better healthy eating lifestyle.
Forget About Calories
Thinking of your calorie controlled diets will make you think about food all day. This is not ideal when you're trying to lose weight. You miss all the fun eating your meals and it affects the people around you. Either they will find you strange or they will laugh at you. Keep everything normal. You know when you're overdoing it. Concentrate on foods you know that contain less calories and enjoy eating your meals.
Losing weight does not happen overnight and when you're into calorie controlled diets expect that you will be doing well some of the time and sometimes you may not. Do not get disillusioned by this and quit. Keep in mind that everything you do go with challenges. It is not difficult to lose weight if you are determined and motivated. Don't quit or cut down on your calories any further. In fact, you're just doing great. If you lost weight last week and didn't lose some this week. That is absolutely fine. Make it up next week and don't stress out yourself thinking why you didn't lose weight. The most important thing is you're not adding more weight to what you already lost. Just keep it up and you're on your way to the land of the slim.
Accept the Challenge
If you're on a diet plan and people around you are not supportive of your weight loss goals be cool. Accept the challenge instead of stressing yourself out. Overcome the temptations. You can always be choosy with your food and maintain it that way. Get a small plate and put on eatable foods that will fit your diet. You can put as much as you want and people around you will not even notice that you're having a hearty, healthy meal.
Don't Overdo It
Don't just get into a calorie controlled diet. Before you start restricting your calorie intake make sure you are doing the right thing to keep you on track. Keeping on cutting your calorie intake may cause you more harm than enjoying its benefits. Find out how much calories you can cut from your diet without damaging your health. If you're unsure of how much calories you can cut off from your meals, consult your doctor.
Don't Worry, Be Happy
Losing weight is not an easy nor is it difficult. What is important is you have taken the first step to a healthy lifestyle and have set your goals of getting rid of your excess pound. It may take long or it may not. The most important is you are happy with what you are doing. Why worry when you're losing weight little by little. It is better than not losing weight at all.
Calorie controlled diets are not the only way to lose way and if you're determined to lose weight who can stop you!
